Strange behavior in Mindedge

While using Mindedge, there were questions to be answered, when the answer is submitted, another screen comes up to show the results of the answer, correct or incorrect. There is a link on this results page 'close window'. This window would not close and return me to the questions. Ended up having to return to the course summary and go through all the links to that point. In Safari, the behavior went like this: Select link to answer questions, a new tab comes up and loads the question. Submit the answer, a new tab comes up showing the results. Click link 'close window', the previous tab for the question comes back up showing the next question. These 2 tabs kept going back forth with questions and answers until the questions were exhausted. At this point I am on the tab with questions with a button 'close window'. Selecting this button returns me to the original tab being the Mindedge content.

Re: Strange behavior in Mindedge

Makes sense, the browser built into PocketWGU doesn't support tabs or closing the window.  It sounds like we'd need to program both to support Mindedge properly, or we could just launch Safari into the site.  What do you think?

Handling all this may be tricky as heck.  I looked at the sequence on a PC. Select the link to start the Questions, open a roughly 300x300 popup window, sumbit answer pop's up a 250x150 windows directly over the first popup, close windw, return to original pop up, back and forth until you done, close original popup, original Mindedge page, not disturbed. Without the use of pop-ups nor tabs I can see how this might be tough.  Jumping out to Safari is also strange, how do you handle it, jump out to Safari pre-determined by the app. You'd have to know which 3-rd party sites need this, not fun.  Offer an option to the user to open link in Safari, most won't know until after the initial decision has been made.  In this example, if I had the choice, I'd have stayed in PocketWGU to go into Mindedge, I would not likely have known the link to answer questions needs to opened in Safari until after I clicked it, too late. The back button would not help either, in this situation, you can't back up from a pop-up (different tab). Whish I better advice on how to handle all this.

Re: Strange behavior in Mindedge

Yeah, it will be tricky.  We might want to look at trapping the mindedge calls to open the smaller window... it may be possible to open our own, in-app windows and handle this content separately.  Not easy, but perhaps possible.  Besides, if it weren't tricky, someone else would have done it already.  :-)
