Version 0.9.8 is up on the Play Store with a number of changes. First, we've tried to make this version easier to use on Tablets with expanded grids of course information, larger fonts and better spacing. We use a few Android tablets ourselves and think the new version is much easier on the larger screens. Of course, we would say that. :-)
Second, we've built on the "Easter Egg" from 0.9.6 and you can now long-press (hold it down for a second or so) the "News" button on the home page to get a quick view of any unread WGU email you may have. If you tap on any of these messages, it will launch WGU's "webmail" inside the app.
We've also fixed a number of bugs and tried to make the app even faster. You may not notice, but a couple of the views are now over 3x faster than before, all while using less memory than in the past.
Finally, the new version will only work on devices running Android 2.1 (Eclair) and later. Previous versions supported 2.0.1 (also called Eclair) but we had to drop those ancient releases to allow a critical library upgrade. If anyone is still using 2.0.1 (pretty much every device that shipped with 2.0 got an upgrade to at least 2.1) and still wants the app, shoot us an email.
Oh, and we did fix the broken package that was mistakenly uploaded earlier in the day. If you get a version that crashes every time you start it, uninstall it, then go back to Google Play to install it again.
